Marco Orsini and Toni Monty hosted a masterclass on Film Resilience held at this year’s Durban Filmmart inspiring emerging talents with their expertise and experiences.
Marco Orsini was a moderator on an online panel discussion “The DFM Hangout: Meet EAVE” at Durban FilmMart on Friday, 4 September 2020 for an opportunity to meet some of the organizers, and former participants of EAVE a professional training, project development and networking organization for audiovisual producers.
Speakers included Bongiwe Selane (Joburg Film Festival), Satu Elo (EAVE), David Horler (Proper Film).
Beyond the Raging Sea, the documentary film by Marco Orsini, and in collaboration with DHL, UNHCR, UNDP and IEFTA, has been confirmed for a market screening at the EFM Berlinale.
The action-adventure feature follows the harrowing tale of two Egyptian adventurers, Omar Samra and Omar Nour, as they take on the world’s toughest row – the unsupported 3,000 nautical mile journey from the Canary Islands to Antigua, also known as the Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge, and highlights the dangers refugees face when crossing open bodies of water for safety.
The screening is set to take place on Monday 24 February 2023, at CinemaxX Berlion Potsdameer Platz, Berlin.
